For us, Amanda and Glen, running our own independent delicatessen really is the dream come true. After spending several years testing the waters with other career lines, we finally decided to take the plunge and launch a business that would do more than just pay the bills – it would keep us sane! So, after months of research and a lot of hard graft, Rustic to Regal was finally open for business at Marsh Mill.
Although delicatessen is perhaps the most appropriate label, Rustic to Regal is so much more. From fresh ingredients and store-supboard ingredients, locally sourced from independent suppliers, to freshly prepared sandwiches, soups and meals and outside catering, there is no compromise on quality and taste.
Every endeavour at Rustic to Regal is influenced by both Amanda’s Irish heritage and a decade living and working in Spain. From traditional, hearty meals cooked form closely guarded family recipes, to Mediterranean, French and American cuisine inspired by cultural overseas experiences as a youth, everything sold and prepared at Rustic to Regal is from the heart. This raw passion, combined with husband and trained chef Glen’s extensive experience in all manner of kitchens and food service environments, gave us all the skills necessary to create a deli that sits at the heart (and in the bellies!) of the community.
Many of Rustic to Regal’s suppliers are long-time friends who all produce the finest foods. Some of the items we sell are of course from foreign climes, but mainly these can only be grown/produced abroad, such as our range of freshly marinated olives.
British produce is very important to us and our stock produced here in England is done so by independent producers who generally will not deal with the major supermarkets so they can continue supplying the very best foodstuffs they can produce. We even have a number of exclusive supplier relationships, enabling us to serve our customers with unique produce that can’t be sourced elsewhere in the area.
Some of our many suppliers include Wyreside Honey, who produce seasonal honey around the corner at Stannah; Oliver’s Kitchen who supply is with their award-winning sticky toffee puddings; Lytham Coffee Co, whose own-roasted beans we serve in all of our coffees and sell for our customers to enjoy at home; delicious cakes by Enticing; fresh chicken from Preesall; and Preesall Preserves jams, pickles and chutneys, to name but a few. We are always adding to our range and stocking new seasonal produce, so don’t forget to call in and see what’s new!
